The HIV rate within the local community is approximately 75%. The center is currently working with HIV positive members of the community with the long term aim of developing a Healing Center that will provide yoga, alternative therapies and education on healthy living.

The women are currently running the small community shop with the aim of using the profit from the shop to build their center. Their work in the shop is also serving to promote the positive role people with HIV can play in the community – thus reducing stigma and promoting awareness.

The shop is providing them with an opportunity to develop business skills that will be invaluable to them when the healing center is completed.
